- 230g Butter at room temperature
- 320g Wholemeal Shortcrust pastry mix
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100g pulp of 1/2 vanilla pod
- 1g salt
Step 1
Pour the water and milk into the bowl of the planetary mixer and dissolve the yeast in it. Then add the flour and oil and operate the planetary mixer with the leaf whisk. Stir for a few minutes, then stop, scrape the sides of the bowl with a tarot and add the salt.
Let it spin for a few more minutes. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 30 degrees, then leave only the light on and add a saucepan in which you have boiled water, this will help create the right humidity inside the oven.
Pour the dough obtained, which must be smooth and a bit soft, into a well-oiled bowl.
Step 2
Close with cling film and let rise until doubled. When the dough has risen, divide it into 5 pieces and form into balls which you will then flatten with your hands to a thickness of about 2cm/1.5cm, and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Let rise until doubled about 45/60 minutes.
Remove the pan and heat the oven to 200 degrees static.
Prepare an egg yolk and a spoonful of milk in a cup, brush the surface of the sandwiches twice and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Inform for about 15 minutes, until golden brown! Stuff as you like and enjoy!!!
